Regulating transition-metal migration to enhance Li-ion reinsertion. The schematic illustrates how regulating transition-metal (TM) ion migration kinetics in Li-rich layered cathodes promotes structural rearrangement at high voltage, thereby facilitating subsequent Li-ion reinsertion during discharge. By lowering the migration barrier and enabling oxygen redox participation, the material achieves more efficient reversible Li storage, helping unlock higher capacity utilization beyond typical stoichiometric limits.
