Dual-salt regulated interfacial evolution at cathode and anode in lithium metal batteries. This schematic illustrates the dual-salt (LiDFOB + LiPF₆) regulated interfacial evolution in lithium metal batteries. On the cathode, LiDFOB promotes the formation of a film-like CEI, followed by LiPF₆-driven nanoparticle-rich CEI. On the anode, the Li deposition is uniform and a LiF-rich SEI that stabilizes Li⁺ transport is developed. Together, the coordinated interphases contribute to improved interfacial stability and cycling performance.
