Site-specific stabilizing effect of single atoms on spinel oxides for acidic oxygen evolution. (IMAGE)
Caption
The schematic diagram reveals that the stabilizing effect of iridium single atoms during the acidic oxygen evolution reaction is determined by their anchoring sites. Single atoms anchored at lattice sites markedly enhance the support's resistance to dissolution and structural degradation. This insight offers a key design principle for developing robust electrocatalysts in proton exchange membrane water electrolysis.
