Autofluorescence-Free “Turn-On” Luminescence Strategy for H₂O₂ Detection. This schematic illustrates the design of the PLNPs@MnO₂ probe, in which the persistent luminescence of ZnGa₂O₄:Cr nanoparticles is initially quenched by a MnO₂ shell (“PL off”). Upon exposure to H₂O₂ in mildly acidic conditions, MnO₂ is reduced to Mn²⁺, restoring the red persistent luminescence (“PL on”). The resulting signal enables both sensitive instrumental quantification and simple naked-eye detection under UV illumination.
