Driftwood along the Arctic coasts (IMAGE)

An astonishing amount of driftwood accumulates along the Arctic coasts - mostly the trunks of pines, spruces and larches from the boreal forests. They are washed into the sea via rivers and are eventually deposited on the coasts.
