Role of peptidyl-arginine deiminase 2 in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma progression (IMAGE)
Caption
By genetically manipulating the peptidyl-arginine deiminase 2 (PAD2) gene and utilizing in vitro pancreatic cancer cell lines and in vivo models, scientists from Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan, have elucidated the role of PAD2 in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). PAD2 regulates the expression of the PRUNE1 gene, which is key to increased cell proliferation and modification of the tumor microenvironment in PDAC.
