Lateral Occipitotemporal Cortex Body Part Representation in Adults Autism Spectrum Disorder (IMAGE)
Caption
Brain representations of body parts in the lateral occipitotemporal cortex (LOTC) are grouped into three distinct categories: action effectors (hands, feet, arms, and legs), non-effectors (chest and waist), and facial parts (upper and lower face), in both typically developing (TD) adults and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The near-identical clustering patterns suggest that LOTC-based visual body representation is preserved in ASD.
