Structures and transposition mechanisms of TEs. In the nucleus, LINE-1 ribonucleoproteins, facilitated by ORF2p, initiate transposition by cleaving one DNA strand, creating 3'OH ends, followed by cleavage of both strands to generate complementary sticky ends.
