Oral Epithelial Cells (IMAGE)
Caption
Representative immunofluorescence images showing normal oral epithelial cells (left) and early stages of oral cancer (right, showing blue cells invading the stroma) just 20 days after activation of the YAP protein in combination with HPV oncogenes (right). Macrophages (pink cells) are more prominent in cancer, and reprogrammed immune cells that facilitate immune evasion and tumor invasion accumulate during cancer initiation.
