Caption
Researchers from the National University of Singapore – Associate Professor Benjamin Tee (right), Dr Fu Xuemei (centre) and Dr Wan Guanxiang (left) – have developed a Scalable Hydrogel-clad Ionotronic Nickel-core Electroluminescent (SHINE) fibre, which can self-heal after physical damage and emit highly visible light. This versatile fibre can be powered wirelessly and manipulated physically using magnetic forces.
