Using tiny cameras, Somashekar Krishna, MD, and his team at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center—Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute are able to explore a patient’s pancreas with a “virtual biopsy” that gives them a microscopic view of the cyst wall. They then use artificial intelligence to analyze the video and identify signs that a cyst is likely to develop into cancer.
