Brian Leard is a fifth-year PhD student in Lehigh University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics. His research project, “Toward Dual Plasma Equilibrium and Transport Optimization,” will be conducted at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility operated by General Atomics in San Diego. Leard is one of just 62 students recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy through its prestigious Office of Science Graduate Student Research program (SCGSR).
