Patients with rheumatoid arthritis spend some $3,000 more than unaffected people per year in medical expenses, according to a recent study published in the American College of Rheumatology’s journal of Open Rheumatology. The study is the first comprehensive look at the economic and humanistic burden of rheumatoid arthritis.
