High-resolution distributed strain sensing over a 100-meter fiber using advanced BOCDR technique (IMAGE)
Caption
This figure presents the results of distributed strain sensing over an approximately 100-m-long optical fiber utilizing BOCDR with periodic pseudo-random modulation. The top diagram illustrates the structure of the sensing fiber, including two tightly wound 47-meter sections and a 10-centimeter strained section near the end. The middle plot shows the distributed Brillouin frequency shift along the entire measured range, corresponding to the applied strain. The lower plot provides a close-up view of the strained section, clearly indicating the Brillouin frequency shift in response to the 10-centimeter strain. These results demonstrate the high spatial resolution and extended measurement range achieved with the proposed method.
