Caltech and the Keck School of Medicine of USC have developed a new laser-based headset device that can noninvasively measure blood flow and volume. Caltech postdoctoral scholar Simon Mahler is shown placing the device onto graduate student Yu Xi Huang. Mahler and Huang are co-lead authors of a paper describing the new device in the journal Biomedical Optics Express.
