Using radar technology to measure heart rate in chimpanzees (IMAGE)
Caption
High-frequency radar can detect extremely subtle body movements, such as those caused by the heart beating. In this study, researchers used millimeter-wave radar to remotely measure heart rate in two adult chimpanzees. The results accurately matched those obtained using standard electrocardiography, showcasing the potential of this method.
