The continental volcanism, oceanic volcanism and mid-ocean ridge volcanism emit Hg to the atmosphere and ocean. Mercury in atmosphere deposit to aquatic and terrestrial systems via wet or dry deposition, and Hg on land enter the ocean through the terrestrial runoff.
