Rice University experimental physicist Han Wu (left) and theoretical physicist Lei Chen partnered with colleagues at more than a dozen research institutions on the discovery of a phase-changing quantum material that could potentially be used to create nonvolatile memory capable of storing quantum bits of information, or qubits. Wu and Chen are lead authors of a peer-reviewed study in Nature Communications about the research.
