New ORNL ALD for neutron sciences is ‘Taylor-made’ for the job

After more than 25 years of experience in condensed matter physics, as a student, researcher and in high-ranking executive roles at neutron scattering sources around the globe, Jon Taylor brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments to his new position as Associate Laboratory Director for the Neutron Sciences Directorate (NScD) at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Chemist Bruce Moyer, a Corporate Fellow at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has won the 2025 Carl Hanson Award, the highest international recognition for achievement in solvent extraction. The International Solvent Extraction Community bestows the medal every three years based on nominations from the global community.
The Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory was honored with four prestigious awards at the 2025 Composites and Advanced Materials Conference, North America’s largest event dedicated to composites and advanced materials.
